Brian:

Great insight re universal international affairs structuring. It would seem military might plays a lesser role in future as "lone wolves" or "nodes" become an increasing threat. I'd argue for a focus on information services, morality, and diplomacy.

Best,
Matt

Heard O'Sullivan on radio. Interesting was his description of how we won the cold war: (1) militarily with Reagan's arms build up, (2) politically with Thatcher holding Europe united, and (3) the Pope morally undermining communism's iron fisted social policies.

Funny b/c that same strategy is how we should be winning the war on terrorism: (1) militarily (check), (2) politically (we have too much opposition, both in Europe and at home, where dissent hurts us the most, b/c it helps rule out help from other nations), and (3) morally (Imans from around the world should be on tv every night describing how al Queda & team are not true Muslims... where are they?). IMHO, this is what it will take to win the war.
